Hug a Tree and Survive

An initiative of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Hug-a-Tree and Survive Program teaches children the basic fundamentals of survival in the woods. The curriculum is geared towards children ages 5 - 12 and provides participants with invaluable knowledge and supplies for a child’s pack, incuding a whistle, high-visibility garbage bag and informative colouring book. The Hug-a-Tree program was developed in San Diego, California after the tragic death of a 9-year old boy who became lost in the wilderness.
